This organisation was set up in 1967 by Margaret (Peggy) Haes, who lived in Higher House. It is based at Higher House Stables, further up Moor Road. The Centre, formerly known as NWRAH, aims to provide riding opportunities for people with special needs, both young and old. It is an independent charitable organisation, largely staffed by volunteers. On fine days, strings of horses carrying happy children can frequently be seen on the roads and tracks around the village.
The Centre’s web site describes its activities in much more detail.
